The very first post...

There are a few reasons I am staring a blog. First, I am so bored. Stick around and I will explain why. Second, I am getting ready to get married and I am so excited to eventually blog about life as a newlywed. Third, I am going to be a teacher someday and plan on having a teaching blog. I am not always great at keeping such things updated, so I would like to start getting into the habit of having a blog to update. Now, this is an introductory post, so let me talk about the important things... I'm 21 years old and, as I mentioned, I am getting married soon! The proposal was dreamy and everything I could have hoped for--it took place at Disney World!
The wedding is set for June 1st, and I am loving being engaged! The husband-to-be is a handsome, fun-loving smartypants who is graduating from college in May and going on to graduate school for Chemistry. I will be joining him and finishing my undergrad wherever it is that he ends up. We have a few options now, and probably won't officially decide where to go until mid to late March.

This is where the boredom comes in--I had a fantastic, fool-proof plan to take this semester to find a job and save up money for when we move to a new place, but things never work out the way we plan :) I have been unsuccessful in finding a job. Fortunately, I have a sweet cousin who is helping out by giving me some hours at my old job, where she is the manager. Such a blessing--I will be able to pay rent and eat for the next month! Still on the lookout for a job that is closer to home and promises plenty of hours. When I am not taking a break, I am studying to be a teacher. My major is early childhood education, and someday I would love to be a kindergarten teacher, though my deepest ambition is to be a stay-at-home mom. I am also obsessed with Japanese fashion, particularly Lolita and Fairy Kei. Look them up if you don't know what I am talking about! If you wondered about the blog title, "kawaii" is Japanese for "cute." There is basically an entire subculture dedicated to being kawaii!
I love cute things, pastel colors, Sailor Moon, and poofy skirts. Silly and perhaps a little nerdy, but true. I've always loved crazy-coloured hair, and if I were not always so desperate for a job, I would dye my hair every colour of the rainbow. I will likely post a lot of photos and information on J-fashion because I just can't help myself. Until next time.
